A MacBook is often the one computer someone depends on for school, work or a side business, so when it cracks, will not charge or will not boot, it throws everything off. At 254 Repair we work on MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models at our shop at 3921 East Stan Schlueter Loop, Ste 103 in Killeen. You talk to the tech who will open your laptop, and we explain what we found before any work starts.
Common MacBook problems we fix
- Cracked or damaged displays. A drop, a pen left on the keyboard when the lid closed, or pressure in a backpack can crack the screen or cause lines and dead areas. We replace displays with high quality parts.
- Battery that will not hold a charge. If your MacBook shows a "Service Recommended" battery message, shuts off at a decent percentage, or the case is starting to lift, the battery needs attention. A swelling battery should be looked at right away.
- Not charging. We check the charger, the cable and the USB-C or MagSafe port, then the board, so you do not pay for parts you did not need.
- Keyboard and trackpad issues. Sticky, repeating or dead keys and an unresponsive trackpad.
- Liquid damage. Coffee and water spills are among the most common MacBook problems we see. Shut it down, unplug it and bring it in quickly. Do not keep trying to turn it on.
- Slow, freezing or not booting. Storage problems, software issues and overheating from dust buildup. Our tip on why your laptop is slow or overheating covers the usual causes.
How a MacBook repair works here
Bring in the MacBook and its charger if you can. We look at the problem with you at the counter and write down what you describe. After diagnosing it, we tell you what is wrong, what the repair involves and what it costs, and you decide. We do not start work you have not approved. When the repair is done, we test it again before you pick it up, and you can follow progress on our repair status page.
Protect your data
Before any computer repair, back up what matters. On a Mac, Time Machine to an external drive or iCloud for documents and photos is the easiest way. If the MacBook will not turn on and you are worried about your files, tell us, because that changes how we approach the repair. Our guide to preparing your device for repair has a short checklist.
Is it worth fixing?
Not every MacBook is worth repairing. On an older model, a major board repair may not make sense compared with replacing it. We will tell you honestly, and if it is not worth fixing we will say so instead of selling you a repair. For Windows laptops and desktops, see our laptop repair and computer repair pages.
Military discount and Spanish spoken
254 Repair is veteran-owned and just south of Fort Hood. Active duty, veterans and military families can ask for the military discount. We speak Spanish at the counter too.

Frequently asked questions
Do you repair both MacBook Air and MacBook Pro?
Yes. We work on MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models. Call 254-213-5522 with your model so we can check parts availability.
I spilled something on my MacBook. What should I do?
Turn it off, unplug it, do not try to power it back on, and bring it in as soon as you can. The sooner we can open it, the better.
Will I lose my files?
Most repairs, like screens and batteries, do not touch your data, but always back up first if you can. If the MacBook will not turn on, tell us your files matter so we plan around them.
How much does a MacBook repair cost?
It depends on the model and the repair. See our price list at /prices/ or bring it in and we will quote it before starting.
