We're 254 Repair, a veteran-owned repair shop in Killeen. The holidays are when consoles work hardest: family game nights, kids home from school, soldiers on block leave catching up on games. It's also when a PS5 suddenly shows "no signal", a controller starts drifting, or a Nintendo Switch stops charging. This page covers what we repair, what you can check at home first, and how to get it done before the holidays.
We repair PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch consoles and controllers at our shop at 3921 East Stan Schlueter Loop, Ste 103, in Killeen.
Bring it in early
Don't wait until the week before Christmas. Some console repairs are quoted after the free diagnostic, and some parts may need to be ordered. Bringing it in early gives you the best chance of having it back for the holidays. When you drop it off, ask how long your repair should take.
No picture on the TV: HDMI port problems
When a PS5 or Xbox turns on but the TV says "no signal", the HDMI port is a common cause, especially if the cable was yanked or the console was moved while plugged in. Before you bring it in, try the checks in our PS5 and Xbox HDMI port problems tip: a different HDMI cable, a different TV input, and on a PS5, Safe Mode with Change Video Output.
We repair HDMI ports on:
- PS5, PS5 Slim and PS4
- Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One and Xbox One S
The starting price for console HDMI port repair is on our price list, tax included.
Disc drive, overheating and power problems
- Disc drive won't read or eject. We repair disc drive problems on PlayStation and Xbox consoles. They're quoted after a free diagnostic.
- Overheating or loud fan. Dust buildup is a common cause. Keep the console in an open space with room to breathe. If it keeps shutting off or the fan sounds like a jet, bring it in.
- Won't turn on. A console that won't power on can have several causes. The free diagnostic finds the cause before you spend anything.
- Spilled a drink on it? Unplug the console or controller, don't turn it back on, and bring it in for a free diagnostic.

Controller stick drift or buttons not working
Drift, when your character or camera moves on its own, and buttons that stop responding are some of the most common controller complaints. We repair:
- PlayStation controllers (DualSense and DualShock)
- Xbox controllers
- Nintendo Joy-Con controllers
Bring the controller in with the console or on its own for a free diagnostic.
Nintendo Switch: screens, charging and Joy-Con
The Switch gets carried everywhere, from car rides to barracks rooms, and that means drops, cracked screens, worn charging ports and Joy-Con that start drifting or stop clicking in. We repair Nintendo Switch consoles, including the Switch, Switch OLED and Switch Lite, and Joy-Con at our shop, so you don't have to mail the console away and wait.
Before you bring it in, take out any game card. If the problem is charging or TV output, bring the charger and dock so we can test the whole setup. See Nintendo Switch repair in Killeen.
Protect your game saves
Most repairs don't involve your saved games, but it's smart to protect them anyway:
- PlayStation and Xbox: if you use cloud saves with your account, check that your saves have synced before you unplug the console.
- Nintendo Switch: your save data stays with the console and your Nintendo account. If you have Nintendo Switch Online, cloud saves are a good backup.
